It is not strange that series and movies use jumps in time as a resource to tell their story, whether it all begins when the protagonist is a girl or has a flashback throughout the plot.
In these cases, the production must find a child or young actress to play that character in earlier stages.
It is a very common resource and one that you have surely seen more than once on the screen.
Some movies and series featured young actresses who were so well characterized that they were the spitting image of the adult actress.
#1. Theo Crain in The Haunting of Hill House
The Crain’s middle sister was one of the show’s viewers’ favorite characters, as she has a special connection to everything she touches.
Her version as a girl was played by McKenna Grace, who did not hesitate to dye her hair black to look even more like the adult actress behind the character, Kate Siegel.
In addition to the great physical resemblance, it was the talent of this 15-year-old that made her character so compelling.
#2. Lucy Wyman 13 Going on 30
Because this comedy is about how a teenage girl advances time until she turns 30, it was to be expected that the cast would have two versions, one for each era.
Even so, we were surprised by how similar the actresses were who gave life to the antagonist, Lucy Wyman.
The 13-year-old character was played by Alexandra Kyle and, as an adult, by Judy Greer.
#3. Jenna Rink In 13 Going on 30
However, the special mention of this film’s cast goes to the girls who played the protagonist of the film.
We meet Jenna Rink when she is just 13 years old, with Christa B. Allen’s face.
Once magically 30, flirty, and thriving, Jennifer Garner plays the same character. They were just like them!
In fact, now that more than 15 years have passed since its premiere, Christa proved that she and Jennifer are like two drops of water.
#4. Jenny Curran in Forrest Gump
The protagonist’s best friend won the hearts of the audience, in part because we watched her grow on screen.
Hanna Hall was the girl in charge of giving life to a tender and innocent Jenny, while Robin Wright was behind the adult version, with whom Forrest is madly in love.
#5. Sabrina Spellman in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Do you remember that we previously mentioned that Grace McKenna is extremely talented as an actress? Well, make no mistake, because she also surprised us when she played Sabrina Spellman as a child.
#6. Snow in Once Upon a Time
Who said that only Disney could make good children’s versions of the well-known princesses? This TV series got the perfect girl to play Snow White: Madison Bailee (who you surely remember from A Lying Wife ).
If it weren’t for her haircut, we’d say she’s just like the actress who played this adult character, Ginnifer Goodwin.
#7. Cassie Howard In Euphoria
Because of the great similarity between the two actresses who played this character, anyone could believe that they were the same.
The truth is that Kyra Adler was the little girl who gave life to Cassie as a child, and Sydney Sweeney did it as an adult.
